Glory To God In The Highest

This is what the great throng of angels declared to shepherds in the field on the night Jesus was born. They were announcing the coming of the Savior, the Prince of Peace. The Bible tells us that we (you and I) were enemies of God, but that He took the initiative to make peace with us.

“For it pleased the Father that in Him (Christ) all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself , by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of the cross. And you, who were once alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled” Colossians 1:19-21

Not only are we now not enemies, but through Christ, God actually takes us into His family. When we come to Jesus, by His sacrifice for us on the cross, and His rising again, we become children of God.

Psalm 29:2 says “Give unto the Lord the glory due His name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness”.

The shepherds, when they had seen Jesus, glorified and praised God. We, too, should live our lives in continual praise, giving “glory to God in the highest”.

In Jesus’ Name,

John Barkley, President
