2007 Ministry Report

 

Praise God for another record year for our Bible distribution in 2007.

 

The total number given was 264,571, an increase of 8.5% over 2006. This included 2,838 Bibles, 2,384 New Testaments and 259,349 individual books of scripture. In a three year period, our total number has increased 91.7%, or almost double. God is so good!

 

Our volunteers distributed 99,759 books, in 628 visits to hospitals, nursing homes, missions and other places.

 

We supplied our associated ministries with 10,840 scriptures for use in their ministries.

 

In addition, we donated 13,980 books directly to hospitals, 7,802 to homes and 4,671 to correctional facilities.

 

Through our scripture grant program we gave 286 grants to Churches and other Christian ministries of 87,127 Bibles, New Testaments and books.

 

We also gave out 40,392 items at various outreach activities attended by our representatives.

 

We served a total of 25 hospitals, 52 homes – retirement, nursing, rehabilitation and hospice, 13 associated ministries and 11 correctional facilities.       

 

2007 was  another wonderful year for scripture distribution. God has blessed  beyond our comprehension!

 

Last year our cost for purchasing and printing Scripture materials was $72,945.  If God should lead you to help us pay for the scriptures we need, we would welcome any contribution.

 

 

 

The Philadelphia Bible Society Inc. is exempt from Federal Income Tax under Section 501(c)(3) of Internal Revenue Code. Donors may deduct contributions to the Society as provided in section 170 of the code.  Bequests, legacies, transfers and gifts to the Society are deductible for federal estate and gift tax purposes provided the applicable sections of the code are complied with.
